Absolutely. Our tool utilizes client-side processing via your browser's native engine. We do not have servers that store, process, or view your images. Your files remain 100% locally on your machine during the entire conversion process.
Why is my converted WebP larger than the original?
This usually happens if you attempt to convert an already highly-compressed JPEG (saved at 30% quality) into a WebP at 100% quality. Ensure your target quality slider matches or is slightly below your source image quality for optimal file size reduction.
Do you offer an API for bulk conversions?

Are there any restrictive file size limits?
Because the conversion occurs entirely within your local browser environment, we do not impose artificial server limits. Your only limitation is the available RAM on your specific device. Modern desktops can easily process 50MB+ images instantly, though older mobile devices may pause momentarily when processing extremely high-resolution print files.
Will my PNG images lose their transparent backgrounds?
Not at all. WebP is structurally superior to legacy formats because it supports both lossy compression (like JPEG) AND an alpha channel for transparency (like PNG) simultaneously. If you drop a transparent PNG logo into our optimizer, the output will be a perfectly transparent WebP file that is vastly smaller in weight.
What is the optimal quality setting for a website?
For standard web usage (blogs, e-commerce product photos, hero banners), we recommend leaving the quality slider at the default 80%. This provides the optimal 'sweet spot'—drastically reducing file size to appease Google Lighthouse while maintaining a visual fidelity that is indistinguishable from the original to the human eye.
